
Dr. Lisa May
Dr. May is Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology. Prior to founding Biltmore Dermatology Associates in 2000, she served as an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, where she established the Pigmented Lesion and Multidisciplinary Melanoma Clinic and was recognized as a teaching scholar. She thoroughly enjoys all aspects of caring for her general dermatology patients.
Her residency was completed in Dermatology at University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill, following an internship in Internal Medicine at University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospitals in Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. May attended medical school at University of North Carolina Hospitals, Chapel Hill, where she was an Honors Graduate, inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, and received the Janet Glasgow Achievement Award for being the first female graduate in her class.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Molecular Biology from Princeton University in Princeton, NJ, graduating Cum Laude. Dr. May maintains memberships in the American Academy of Dermatology, the North Carolina Dermatology Association, and the North Carolina Medical Society.
