At Biltmore Dermatology we diagnose and treat skin, hair, and nail conditions in patients of all ages. We diagnose 
and treat a variety of conditions including Rashes, Psoriasis, Skin Cancers, Lesions, and Melanoma.

Our Physicians

  • Dr. Lisa May

    Dr. Lisa May

    Dr. May is Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology. Prior to founding Biltmore Dermatology Associates in 2000, she served as an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, where she established the Pigmented Lesion and Multidisciplinary Melanoma Clinic and was recognized as a teaching scholar. She thoroughly enjoys all aspects of caring for her general dermatology patients.

    Her residency was completed in Dermatology at University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill, following an internship in Internal Medicine at University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospitals in Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. May attended medical school at University of North Carolina Hospitals, Chapel Hill, where she was an Honors Graduate, inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, and received the Janet Glasgow Achievement Award for being the first female graduate in her class.

    She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Molecular Biology from Princeton University in Princeton, NJ, graduating Cum Laude. Dr. May maintains memberships in the American Academy of Dermatology, the North Carolina Dermatology Association, and the North Carolina Medical Society.

  • Dr. Lisa Nurre

    Dr. Lisa Nurre is a board certified Dermatologist. She and Dr. Lisa May founded Biltmore Dermatology in 2000. She earned her medical degree from Wright State University School of Medicine and completed her Dermatology Residency at The University of Louisville. Her interests include running, skiing, biking, and spending

Our Physician Assistants

  • Alison LW Phillips, MMS, PA-C

    Alison earned her Bachelor of Science degree from East Tennessee State University. She was graduated Cum Laude with a major in psychology and minor in biology. She and her husband then moved to South Florida where she attended Nova Southeastern University and earned a Master of Medical Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies and was graduated with University Honors. She is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and a member of the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants as well as the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Alison’s hobbies include running and decorating cakes with buttercream icing for family and friends. She enjoys spending time with her husband and son and visiting her family’s farm in East Tennessee.
